Christmas Ornaments

Christmas ornaments are done!

The pompom on Santa's hat is too big. But it's the only size I have so I think it's perfect:)

These were fun and easy to make. The pattern is in the November/December '05 No. 106 issue of Quiltmaker.

Design Wall – January 18, 2016

No progress made on the names.

I did start some Christmas ornaments. It's so weird sewing Christmas stuff in January.

I had to buy black fabric! I was completely out. I bought what was left on the bolt of Kona Black at JoAnn.

I didn't use enough fabric this to count.

Block 7, 8 & 9 - E, K & A

The E finishes my name. I'm going to make a wall hanging out of them.

My Mom really likes them and wants her own. So I started spelling her name.

Now I'm only one block behind. I don't have a lot of purple in my scrap pile. I'm going to spend a while digging through it looking for more purples.

The blocks are out of 300 Paper-Pieced Quilt Blocks: (CD included) by Carol Doak.

Stash Report – January 10, 2016

I wasn't home Thursday, Friday & Saturday (at least not enough to get any sewing done). So I'm behind on my blocks. I'm going to try and catch up on them tonight. This week I made coasters and 6 blocks.

Flannel Rag Coasters

I saw these super easy coasters in the November/December 2005 Issue of Quiltmaker. In the 'Twas the Night Before... article.

The zombie coasters have been washed and dried which is why they are fuzzy. I just finished the frogs so they haven't been washed.

Block 6 - T

Another T. What could I be spelling?

Weigh in Wednesday - January 6, 2016

Starting weight: 267 lbs.
last weeks weight: 199 lbs.
this weeks weight: 198 lbs.
Total lost: 69 lbs.

Wow so happy to have lost a pound. It fells like all I've ate this week is leftover Christmas candy.

I made vegetable soup on the first. And Chili yesterday. So I know I've had more than just junk food.

Block 5 - T and an oops

Oops! The first attempt didn't go so well. I accidentally cut the fabric.

So I started over. The second attempt worked out much better.

Block 1 - A

I'm going to attempt to make a quilt block every day this year. I'm off to a good start. My first block is done.

It's the letter A.

The pattern is from 300 Paper-Pieced Quilt Blocks: (CD included) .

2016 Goals

I have three big goals this year.

1. Craft more! This won't be hard. I didn't craft much last year.

2. Keep loosing weight. I started 2015 weighting 267 pounds. I start 2016 weighing 199 pounds. I need to loose about 50 more but I'm celebrating every pound lost!

3. Cook more! Eat less frozen meals and make it from scratch!

4. Wait there's one more blog more!
