Mini Scrappy Quilt

I finished the Scrappy Quilt! Sorry it's not a very good picture. It's the best I could get. I think I'm going to have buy a battery for my old camera. It was cheaper to buy a new camera than a battery but the old camera takes better pictures.

After the cream border there's a black border and then a red one.
After I finished the top Stinker had to take a nap on top of it. So I decided dug out the sleeping cat stencil and that's how I quilted it!

The pattern is Scrappy Quilt out of Paper-Pieced Mini Quilts by Wendy Vosters.

Napping Stinker

Remember the Fleece Shag Rugs that I made? Stinker just discovered that they make really nice napping spots.

Stash Report - Week 12

I made a heart mug rug. Then I spent the rest  of the week cleaning and didn't get much sewing done.

My quilt club met yesterday and I was determined I wasn't going to buy any fabric...but. They had a glow in the dark space panel and somehow two of them made their way home with me.

Heart Mug Rug

I made my first mug rug. It won't be my last. They are so fast and fun to make. And cute too!  It's 6 inches by 10 inches. The applique pattern is from the March 2005 issue of McCall's Quick Quilts. And before you ask my soda IS hiding a mistake!)

Will Work For Eggs Wallhanging

I think I did a pretty good job. My applique is getting better. In fact I think it's my best applique yet. I just had one problem. After I sewed the bow on and and was admiring my wall hanging. I noticed I hadn't sewed the nose down! So drew the stitches on with a marker! You can't tell can you? It's fused down really well. So I don't think it will fall off.

And want to know what took the longest? Finding my crayons! (You color in the pink of her ears.) I looked in all the drawers and boxes I have craft stuff hidden in. And where do I find them? In the last place I think of, my desk drawer. I don't know why they were there but I did put them back there because it will be the first place I look next time.

About the Book

Wilder Harding is a bloodhound, created by the Guild to hunt down and kill vampires on America’s frontier. His enhanced abilities come with a high price: on the full moon, he becomes capable of savagery beyond telling, while the new moon brings a sexual hunger that borders on madness.

Rescuing a weapons inventor from undead kidnappers is just another assignment, though one with an added complication–keeping his hands off the man’s pretty young apprentice, who insists on tagging along.

At odds with polite society, Satira’s only constant has been the aging weapons inventor who treats her like a daughter. She isn’t going to trust Wilder with Nathaniel’s life, not when the Guild might decide the old man isn’t worth saving. Besides, if there’s one thing she’s learned, it’s that brains are more important than brawn.

As the search stretches far longer than Wilder planned, he finds himself fighting against time. If Satira is still at his side when the new moon comes, nothing will stop him from claiming her. Worse, she seems all too willing. If their passion unlocks the beast inside, no one will be safe. Not even the man they’re fighting to save.

Warning: This book contains a crude, gun-slinging, vampire-hunting hero who howls at the full moon and a smart, stubborn heroine who invents mad-scientist weapons. Also included: wild frontier adventures, brothels, danger, betrayal and a good dose of wicked loving in an alternate Wild West.

Purex Complete Crystals

Purex recently sent me a free sample of Purex Complete Crystals. Due to someone with allergies in my home I haven't used fabric softener in some time. But these crystals are 92% natural not oil based so I wanted to try them. I was careful with whos clothes were I washed using them. They are amazing. Even my allergy girl gave them a try. She use a towel washed in the crystals and had not itchy rash!

I received fresh spring waters scent and it smells wonderful. They still smelled good after being in the dirty clothes basket for few days.

You can click here for more information http://www.purex.com/. It even has a link to coupon you can print.

I am a Purex Insider. While I do receive complimentary sample products from the Purex® brand, my opinions are my own.

Design Wall Monday – 3/7/11

It's quilted! And almost done! I just have to fold the binding over and sew it down. I sewed the binding onto the back because I'm going to stitch it down on my sewing machine. Then I get to decorate the eggs, with buttons, rick rack, and any thing else I can find. I hope to finish it tonight.

Honest Lawyer

An investment counselor went out on her own. She was shrewd and diligent, so business kept coming in, and pretty soon she realized she needed an in-house counsel, so she began interviewing young lawyers.

"As I'm sure you can understand," she started off with one of the first applicants, "in a business like this, our personal integrity must be beyond question." She leaned forward. "Mr. Peterson, are you an *honest* lawyer?"

"Honest?" replied the job prospect. "Let me tell you something about honesty. Why, I'm so honest that my father lent me fifteen thousand dollars for my education and I paid back every penny the minute I tried my very first case."

"Impressive..... And what sort of case was that?"

The lawyer squirmed in his seat and admitted, "He sued me for the money."
